Marie Callender's Bakes...sounds tasty, no?
Recently I was able to try 2 of them.
They are tauted as being more homestyle flavor and easy to make.
I chose two different ones, the Vermont White Cheddar Mac & Cheese
&
Creamy chicken Alfredo w/ Sun Dried Tomatos.
Easy peasy to make.
You can pop them in the microwave and in under 15 minutes (including wait time) you will have a piping hot meal for 2 (or 1 if you are so inclined) or you can "bake" them in your oven in just under an hour.
The beginning of the week I had a little car trouble and did not make it home in time to make what I was going to for dinner, so I heated up the Vermont White Cheddar Mac & Cheese in the microwave.
I got out two bowls and put some in each for me & the Cheekers.
Cheeks ate it but didn't seem thrilled with it.
He is 4 and it definitely doesn't look like the boxed yellow mac & cheese so he was a bit apprehensive.
I chowed down.
It was good, creamy albeit spicey.
I was surprised by the spice to it.
Not overly spicey but a bit of a kick.
Tonight we did the Creamy Chicken Alfredo w/ Sun Dried Tomatoes.
Loved it.
Bow tie pasta w/ veggies in a creamy sauce.
YuMmers!
Again, under 15 minutes and dinner was on the table.
For being a frozen meal it tasted totally homemade.
I actually felt good about serving it with all the veggies in it & believe you me, there were a lot.
Cheeks wouldn't eat it.
Said he didn't like it.
I would say this would be great for older kids to share with one another for lunch
or
For a quick mid-week meal for one or two.
Little kids may be taken aback by the spice or all the veggies or the fact that it probably doesn't look like what they are used to.
I noticed at my ShopRite they were on sale for $4.99.
Not a bad value.
Good to keep on hand for a last minute, quick meal.
Now the fun part.
I have 2 coupons for "FREE" Marie Callender's Bakes.
Yep. Free.
