The New Year is Just Around the Corner

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cafe Well for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

What a better time to get in place your plan for a healthier, new you in the new year.

2012...Let's call it the year of you or the year of me, since I am writing this post.

For those of you who are new to the blog I am going to confess something, I am overweight.  I know! Shocker! Tis true.  I am 6ft tall, red hair & overweight.  A pretty picture? I think not...well at least when the red fades, I enhance it you know.

I digress.

I have decided to check out Cafe Well.

What is Cafe Well you say?

It's a social network that offers corporate wellness programs that work!

Well what kind of info can find at Cafe Well Meghan?

Good question!

You can find the program Race to the Moon, which is sponsered by HealthAmerica ..  This program aims to get members more fit & active by running or walking by offering free pedometers.  Hello...FREE! These pedometers reward the walker/runner for milestones & steps. I love rewards!

In just under a month, Race to the Moon participants have walked over 50 million steps and averaged 2.5 million steps a day.

So here is what I want to do...I want to start the new year off with a challenge.  Are you with me? I'm thinking of just getting more active, then trying to eat healthier.  How will I do the active part...walking.  That may mean getting up at the butt crack of dawn but I gots to do what I gots to do.

I will definitely be checking out Cafe Well to help me with my process.

Tell me, are you in? or are you out? Remember you must be a member of Health America.

Let me know!

Nessie & Me...a Review & a #Giveaway

Need a cute movie for the little ones to watch, this is the one. Cheeks & I watched it, we liked it, albeit a bit young for my 10 year old boy.  I would say good age range for kids is maybe 3 to 7. Here's a bit about the movie: The Loch Ness Monster has been back in the news following a recent sighting and resurfaced pictures, just in time for the release of family movie  “Nessie & Me,”  which is now available on DVD & VOD, courtesy of Vision Films! When 9-year-old Jamie moves to a beautiful lakeside village, he befriends a grumpy old sea captain who tells him of the lake’s mythical creature named Nessie. The townsfolk don’t believe him, but Jamie wonders if Nessie can be the solution to save the town from a greedy mogul who is buying up land around the lake… if only he can prove that Nessie is real. But sometimes it takes a little bit of magic, and with the help of a mermaid, a treasure map and an unlikely friendship with Nessie the Sea Monster, ...

Green Giant: Raise A Giant (Giveaway too)

At Green Giant® we know it takes a lot more to raise a healthy child then just getting them to eat their vegetables. Kids these days live in a world that is bigger and scarier than the world we grew up in, and they need help and encouragement to navigate that world with confidence and pride. Unfortunately one of the hardest things kids have to deal with is bullying. When a child is bullied by a peer it can turn his or her life into a daily gauntlet of fear and anxiety. That’s why Green Giant® is partnering with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center and We Day Minnesota to help parents Raise A Giant and put a stop to bullying in their community. What Does it Mean To Be A Giant? Being a giant isn’t about being the biggest or the best. Being a giant means standing up for others. It means lending a hand to those who are in trouble and speaking up for those who sometimes find it hard to speak up for themselves. Studies show that an effective way...
