The LIfe We Never Expected ~ Review and Giveaway

Recently I was asked to review a book & psst, I get to give one away too!
That comes later.

The book: The Life We Never Expected by Andrew & Rachel Wilson.

Here's a brief synopsis:

What do you do when hard or painful circumstances turn your world upside down, resulting in a life you never expected? Andrew and Rachel Wilson grappled with this question after both of their children were diagnosed with regressive autism. Refreshingly honest, this book explores the highs and lows of raising children with specials needs, reflecting on the broader question of how to cope with suffering of all kinds. Sharing personal stories from their lives and encouragement rooted in the truth of God’s Word, Andrew and Rachel highlight lessons they’ve learned related to fighting for joy and thriving in the midst of trials—ultimately pointing readers to Christ, the One who promises to make all things new.

This book truly resonates with me. While my son doesn't have autism, he still faces challenges. He was diagnosed at a young age with ADHD and while not the same, he faced many uphill battles socially and privately.

I prayed for him to out grow it (which he is), I prayer for strength to not tape him to wall when he drove me crazy (I never did), I prayed for patience and I prayed for him. Andrew and Rachel show how Christ can help with everything.

Definitely a must read!!!

Now the good stuff.

I never expected to have a son with sensory issues and high functioning asperger's, but here he is, and I love him with all my heart. I can't wait to read this book someday.
