Marie Callender Saved My Dinner

Friday night. Start of the weekend.
Start of relaxation for the working Mommy.
Right?

Well that's what I thought.
I went to my Christmas party for work during the day.
Stuffed myself on some sort of chicken and appetizers.
The 18yo decided to "head out" before I got home.
That left me the 5yo & myself to worry about for dinner.
Right?

Not so much.
Unexpectedly the Daddy came home.
I had taken nothing out of the freezer.
Mother Hubbard had nothing on me as far as cupboards being bare.

Sadly, the daddy didn't understand why there was no food.
I offered him a pb&j sandwhich.
After all his son was eating it.

He shook his head no.
Told me he wanted something warm & comforting after working outside all week & living on take out.

So my mommy super powers remembered I had 2 Marie Callender's Chicken Pot Pies in the freezer.
Ta~da!
Dinner.

The nice thing about Marie Callender's Pot Pies is that you can microwave them.
Hello!
I asked him if he wanted microwave or oven preparation, because I'm nice like that.
It takes approximately 60 minutes in the oven and only 10 minutes in the microwave.

Mr. I Can't Wait opted for the microwave.
Good choice!

I popped one in, along with some biscuits in the oven.

10 minutes later....dinner was served. (I popped mine in after his...we wouldn't want the Daddy to wait!)

Both of us had the chicken version.
Oh!
My!
Gosh!
Heaven in a pie.

It was so warm, comforting, good, chock full of veggies, creamy excellent taste...I wanted more but Daddy had already finished his.

Although I wanted more, it was for taste not satisfaction.
Both the Daddy & I were full after eating our pies.

I will say Daddy thought his was a bit salty.
Mine was borderline salty.
Really, that is the only negative comment I can make about the pies.

Not only do the pies taste scrumpdidlyumptious the other great reasons to get Marie Calender's Pot Pies are:
