Formulate, Personal Shampoo & Conditioner: Review & Giveaway

Guess what?
Guess what?
Guess what?

I was lucky enough to receive some shampoo made especially for my hair from Formulate
I was so excited the day I got it I put a little Instastory up.  Who saw it? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I digress.  First I want to tell you what Formulate does.  They have you answer a short, very short survey about your hair and the hair goals you have. Then they "formulate" a shampoo and conditioner for you based on that.  You even get to pick the scent. I chose Citrus because hello! Citrus is the best smell ever!!! Then within a couple of weeks, you receive you shampoo and conditioner and the transformation of your hair begins.

Want to know the best thing about this brand? The product is sulfate free, paraben free, cruelty free and made in the US. Whoop! Whoop! Holla!

The next morning I got in the shower, broke out the goods and washed my hair. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially because it doesn't lather like most shampoos. The smelled wowed me first thing. A fantastic smelling shampoo is always important.  I rinsed, got out, wrapped the towel turban style around my head and got my stuff ready to dry.

I have very fine, thin hair...Exhibit A:

Do NOT judge the duck lips, mmm, k?

So I comb my long hair out, which is usually full of knots.  Nope. No notes. My comb went through my hair like butter. Buttah baby! Impressive I thought. I had a lingering doubt that my hair would be limp because it's so fine.  Picked up the hair dryer, blew it dry and to my surprise, it was soft, shiny and full.

I couldn't believe it.  I thought, this has got to be a fluke. I went about my merry day and thought the build up will come, my hair will start to look icky.

Well after a week or so, my hair, was doing fabulous. I was loving it and still do!!! Check it out peeps:

Yes, I have fly ways but I am in dire need of a cut. My hair hasn't been this soft, this shiny since I was a kid, to be honest.  The greatest thing, I have naturally oily hair and I go at least 2 days in between washes now. Woo.

I honestly can say Formulate is worth trying and worth sticking with.

Now the exciting stuff, I have partnered with Formulate to give you all a chance to win your own personalized shampoo and conditioner.  This is where you all go nuts and give me lots of "we love you Meghan!" "Meghan, you rock" etc in the comments. No? Alright.

This giveaway will end 3/8 at 11:59pm.

That's it...one week, so let's go!

I have a big cow-lick that makes a 2.5" part down the back of my head. I have to comb over it, then spray it in place.

My hair is limp, frizzy and multitextured. It's horrible to style so I don't bother.

Nessie & Me...a Review & a #Giveaway

Need a cute movie for the little ones to watch, this is the one. Cheeks & I watched it, we liked it, albeit a bit young for my 10 year old boy.  I would say good age range for kids is maybe 3 to 7. Here's a bit about the movie: The Loch Ness Monster has been back in the news following a recent sighting and resurfaced pictures, just in time for the release of family movie  “Nessie & Me,”  which is now available on DVD & VOD, courtesy of Vision Films! When 9-year-old Jamie moves to a beautiful lakeside village, he befriends a grumpy old sea captain who tells him of the lake’s mythical creature named Nessie. The townsfolk don’t believe him, but Jamie wonders if Nessie can be the solution to save the town from a greedy mogul who is buying up land around the lake… if only he can prove that Nessie is real. But sometimes it takes a little bit of magic, and with the help of a mermaid, a treasure map and an unlikely friendship with Nessie the Sea Monster, ...

VTech Voices ~ Family Reading Night & Giveaway!!!

That's right everyone. This week being part of the VTech Voices team is allowing me to bring you a cool giveaway. Of course, you are going to have to do a bit of work to get it. First let's see what we are playing for: "OOOH! AAAH!" I'm not kidding when I say this VTech Reader is freaking awesome! Not only will you win one of those, you will get a "game" with it. Woo hoo! Here's what you need to do. You need to come up with your very own Family Reading Night. It's where the whole fam (or as many are at home) sit down & read together. Sort of like a Family Home Evening for those LDSers in the crowd (HOLLA!). I did this with my lil guy & my nephew just last night. We layed on my bed and they each took turns holding the reader & playing the games that come after the story. It got a little confusing for a bit because, well let's face it they are almost 4 & 4.5yrs old so they are learning about not yelling out an...
