VTech Voices ~ Family Reading Night & Giveaway!!!

That's right everyone.
This week being part of the VTech Voices team is allowing me to bring you a cool giveaway.
Of course, you are going to have to do a bit of work to get it.

First let's see what we are playing for:
"OOOH! AAAH!"
I'm not kidding when I say this VTech Reader is freaking awesome!
Not only will you win one of those, you will get a "game" with it.
Woo hoo!

Here's what you need to do.
You need to come up with your very own Family Reading Night.
It's where the whole fam (or as many are at home) sit down & read together.
Sort of like a Family Home Evening for those LDSers in the crowd (HOLLA!).

I did this with my lil guy & my nephew just last night.
We layed on my bed and they each took turns holding the reader & playing the games that come after the story. It got a little confusing for a bit because, well let's face it they are almost 4 & 4.5yrs old so they are learning about not yelling out answers if the other is asked the question. Sigh.

Both of the boys love this reader. My lil guy will ask to always read it.
This week we were able to read "Dora the Explorer: Dora & the The Little Pigs". What a fun story!!! Not to mention the games are extremely educational but the kids never know it.

I've said it before, reading comprehension is high on my list. I want to make reading/learning fun & VTech has managed to capture that 1,2,3!

So, if you want to enter, here's what ya gotta do:

1. Leave me a comment telling me about your Family Reading Night, where you had it, who participated, how did it go. That sort of thing.

2. Become a follower.

3.  Tweet this giveaway, leave me a link to the tweet. Make sure to use #v.reader hashtag.

Really, that's it.
Just 3 ways.

Also, make sure I have a way of getting in contact with you. If I don't & you win, you'll never know!!

Ok, go!

Giveaway ends 7/30 @ 8pm est.

*This giveaway is sponsered by The Motherhood & VTech. I did receive a free reader & games to review.  All opinions are my own*

My son regularly has a family reading night with his dad and me... We sit together and read a story.. Occasionally we would narrate it together..or encourage him to try read a few words himself.. or give him a chance to ask questions...or we question him..sort of in the attempt to improve comprehension skills..
it is fun

We read during the day at daycare, otherwise it would be known as nightcare and who wants that? Not me thankyouverymuch! Anyway if it counts....today we read Laurie Berkner's Victor Vito and Freddie Vasco complete with voice overs by yours truly and audience participation to complete the sentences. Today there were 5 participants including me...TOF, TC, I and C. We sure know how to partay here on The Avenue.

My kids and I had a Family Reading Night the other night (we actually do this a lot though). We read a couple of books from the library - one of them was Fancy Nancy, the other was Walter the Farting Dog Goes On a Cruise...not kidding and if you haven't read it, pretty funny. My kids LOVED it of course :)

We read nightly for at least 15 minutes. My son loves it when we read and I really enjoy it as well.

For the past 2 nights, my 3 year old son and I have read some of his library books together before he has to clean up for bed. His 11 year old sister and 14 year old brother have been in the room and often comment on the things my 3 year old says about the story.

We actually have Family Reading every night about 30 minutes before bedtime. My kids pick out 3 books and we read them, plus it settles them down alot.

Every night before bedtime we sit down as a whole family and read to the kids (ages 4 & 2). Then my son goes to bed and we read some more with my daughter until it's time for her to go to bed as well.

During the day, we also have family reading time, minus the Hubby who's at work. The kids and I lay with some pillows on the floor and I read my own book while they page through their's.

We had our family reading time at the kitchen table! Myself, my husband and our 3 boys ages 8, 2 and 11 months participated. The 8 year old did most of the reading and the 2 year old loudly repeated most of what he read. Overall we had a great experience as long as we continued to give the baby food!!

We had our family reading night Wednesday night. My daughter read Twilight, my son read one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, I read a book called A Brother's Journey & my husband read a Star Trek novel. After 1 hour of reading, we took time to discuss the parts of the books we had read & to suggest it to those who we thought would like to read it.
